Kendra, and many other residents’ associations in the area, supports the campaign for an elected mayor because the current system makes us voiceless. Croydon Council’s leadership doesn’t need to listen to us, because it makes no difference. We didn’t choose them. But an elected mayor would be chosen by ALL residents throughout the borough, and be accountable directly to voters. DEMOC is not a party political campaign and is supported by residents of all political persuasions and none.
