Letter from the Chair

23rd August 2021

Dear Neighbours,

RE: TIDYING THE POND AREA

As Chair of Kendra, I called a meeting last week, with a group of interested local residents to discuss about progressing how the pond and surrounding area could be improved.

Several of us volunteered to tidy up the grass verges and the high vegetation impacting the pond, especially to make the area safer for traffic, provide better visibility of approaching cars and for pedestrians to be able walk more safely off the road.

Our plan is not to make any changes to the pond itself at this stage, except the surrounding overgrown plants, although residents might like to consider improving the pond in the future.

We are planning a volunteer work party to start on Saturday, 4th September from 9.30 a.m. for two or three hours; continuing, if people are willing, on the first Saturday of every month.

Please join us as we would be glad to have as many volunteers as possible – also we know that many of you contributed when the pond was first restored a few years ago. It’ll be no surprise if we suggest you come in old clothes and bring sheers, secateurs and grass rakes. etc. and a wheelbarrow if you can.

Naturally, KENDRA supports these works and most of us are members. We look forward to seeing you then.

Best regards

Christine Heal
