Purley Hospital MIU Campaign

Posted on September 2, 2015October 14, 2015 by admin

Purley MIU Photo Call 4-9-15Purley Hospital was redeveloped with £11 million of public money in 2012/13 to provide improved outpatient facilities and an Urgent Care Centre. In 2014 The Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group drastically downgraded the Urgent Care Centre by cutting the opening hours, stopping treatment for minor ailments, and removing walk in access to the on-site x-ray facility, to treat fractures and breaks. We believe that the 85,000 residents of Purley and surrounding districts need these facilities and should have access to a local Urgent Care Centre.

Reprocurement Strategy Additional Option 6A – Letter to Dr B v1.4

• Open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm

• Able to treat minor ailments

• Able to diagnose and treat fractures and broken bones

Together with our neighbouring residents’ Associations, Kendra has written to the Secretary for State for Health, asking for his intervention at Purley. In addition to this, we  held a press photo call with Chris Philp MP on Friday 4th September, at the Purley Hospital MIU entrance (pictured above).
